Requirements
Job Purpose
Working closely with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and radiotherapists. Will play a central role in developing, planning, and implementing patient treatment plans and related quality assurance programs and reviews. Also help to protect patients and healthcare staff from hazards such as radiation.
Minimum Requirements
M.Sc. in Physics
Post M.Sc. diploma in Radiological Physics
1 year post M.Sc. training including diagnostic physics.
Experience with conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SRT, VMAT, 3-D and Electron Beam treatment planning and planning systems. Familiarity with high dose rate brachytherapy, radiosurgery as required.
Familiarity with radiation treatment planning required.
Must possess training in physics, including radiological physics, and in clinical, basic medical, and radiobiological sciences.

Essential Job Functions:
Routine calibration of radiotherapy equipment.
Implement and monitor quality control program and carrying out tests to reassure efficient and reliable performance of equipment.
Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Therapists in the treatment planning verification and execution of plans.
Calculation of dose distribution in and around tumor and surrounding normal tissue.
Ensure correct radiation dosimetry in teletherapy and brachytherapy.
Designing of auxiliary devices needed for accurate treatment of patients.
Performance of after repair tests of radiotherapy equipment in collaboration with the maintenance engineer.
Provide physics support to research.
Participate in training sessions on radiation safety issues for radiation technologists.
Responsible for maintaining required compliances as per AERB norms and any other applicable regulations.
Respond to maintain compliance with AERB and resolve any queries / findings raised in a timely manner.
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Facility Director / Chief Medical Physicist / Corporate Team.
Audits department to check compliance with health and safety legislation and ensure AERB and other regulatory compliances are adhered to.
