Job Description

He / she is the full time Doctor in a particular ward and carries out daily routine checkup of the entire patient in the ward. Keeps the concerned consultant informed about the patient condition by continuous monitoring and assessment.

  • To ensure handover and takeover

  • To go for rounds with the Consultants and referral Doctors, if any

  • To visit all the patients in the ward and carry out routine daily checkup of patients based on patient

condition

  • To ensure adequate documentation

  • To be responsible for initiating and updating the admission record, progress notes, operation notes,

discharge summary, death summaries

  • To check case sheets and ensure no pending investigation or reports or procedures

  • To follow up on investigation reports

  • To attend to patients’ complaints immediately

  • To be available in ward always for patient monitoring

  • To ensure continuous monitoring of seriously ill patients

  • To keep the superiors informed about patient condition and take prior approval of the treating consultant before prescribing any additional medication

  • To schedule the patient for different investigation procedures both diagnostic and therapeutic

  • To assist superiors in carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

  • To follow up the instruction of superiors

  • To write the discharge summary and get it corrected after typing one day before discharge

  • To give necessary health education and discharge advice

  • To follow Code Blue protocol if required

  • To follow MLC protocol, as applicable


Work Experience
  • Preferably Minimum 1 years of experience


Knowledge, skills, and Abilities Required
  • Demonstrated verbal, written skills and positive interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated beginning effective organizational, teaching and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of the age specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of the

    patients served.

  • Visual and auditory acuity for accurate patient assessment.

  • Working knowledge and consistent use of personal protective equipment.


Education and formal Training
  • MBBS.

  • Certified in BLS/ACLS preferred

  • Requires CCA Oncology Training Program at first available class.


Physical Requirements
  • Work requires long periods of standing, walking, or sitting and occasional assistance with heavy

    lifting.

  • Maybe required to work variable shifts or weekends on occasion.

Job Specifications
  • Complete patient assessments and communicate significant findings to physician & staff in a timely

    manner.

  • Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures when applicable

  • Provide safety in patient care through the consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration.

  • Assure the quality of treatment delivery and procedures through the complete and accurate documentation of medical records.

  • Explain all procedures to patient and/or family members and refer physician medical questions

    appropriately.

  • Respond promptly, effectively, and compassionately to patient concerns.

  • Observe patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicate this to appropriate staff members.

  • Counsel patients on possible side effects and expectations of their treatment course.

  • Provide on-call coverage for the treatment of patients in emergency situations.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers, managers, and physicians.

  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies

  • Promote positive patient relations and strive to achieve patient/family satisfaction.

  • Ensure that doctor documentation is complete and accurate in compliance with standards for

    documentation.

  • Effectively communicate with patients by listening to patient concerns and requests, and relay concerns and feedback to the appropriate staff members.

  • Document patient care services by charting patient records. (EMR- Physical examination Review of

    system, Performance status, History of present illness, Toxicity assessment and plan /care plan based on the assessments)

  • Utilize good judgment when referring technical questions and/or difficult cases to Consultant.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all CCA Hospital policies and safety procedures.

  • Adhere to all infection control measures and uphold safety and care standards set forth by CCA Hospital.

  • Conduct self in a courteous, helpful, dignified, and professional manner always when dealing with

    patients, co-workers, supervisors and/or the public.

  • Maintain an atmosphere of caring, concern and support for the facility’s patients, visitors, and staff

    members on a consistent basis.

  • Assure that all certifications, licenses and/or registrations are up to date

  • Complies with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, and State Department of Health).

  • Promotes positive patient relations and strives to achieve patient/family satisfaction.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data and enforces HIPAA standards

    and regulations.

  • Previews and evaluates treatment/procedure schedule on a weekly basis (for the following week), to

    trouble shoot congested scheduling and ensure that treatments/procedures are spread out throughout the day.

  • Perform related duties as designated as necessary

  • Must be able to deal sensitively but objectively with chronically and critically ill patients and

    apprehensive families.

  • Organizational ability is required to plan, direct, and control the activity of the treatment area and to

    recognize and establish priorities.

  • Able to communicate with people beyond giving instructions, as in coordinating activities with various

    hospital departments.

  • Ability to support and defend hospital policy to all members of the staff regardless of personal opinions.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions in the various details of the position.
